Melanie is a Colorado native who graduated from Columbine High School. Melanie received her B.S. teaching degree from The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, where she also played volleyball- Roll Tide! She also played professionally, even in Hong Kong. Melanie taught health and P.E. and coached varsity volleyball and track prior to becoming a school counselor. She received her M.A .from the University of Northern Colorado in School Counseling, and is a licensed professional school counselor. She has also been a business owner, professional speaker, performance coach (professional certified life coach) and neurofeedback clinician. Professionally, she strives to help all people she works with to be their best selves by using evidence-based strategies and developing a caring relationship.

Areas of specialty: College and career prep, restorative practices, biofeedback, self-injurious behavior, crisis, anxiety, leadership/followership, grief, communication, mindfulness, health & wellness, sport & performance psychology. Professionally, she strives to help all people she works with to be their best selves by using evidence-based strategies and developing a caring relationship.

Melanie's personal life: Faith, family, friends, nature & wellness. Her favorite childhood book is The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. Melanie is excited to be (back) in Jeffco working at Bear Creek to support all students… Go Bears!
